What Companies Have Said About Us

Traditional Owner, Mandandanji, Tim Klaas

Bridgeman have a very good way of being able to engage, their engagement with us, the Traditional Owner Group, Mandandanji, followed step by step protocol, which is a very different experience for us. The engagement piece was the foremost piece for us, the fact that they engaged with us as their first point of contact was an advantage to us. We were able to offer them our local contacts and local tradespeople that we have as part of the Mandandanji and they provided us with training and development opportunities as well. Local content is at the forefront and that is where we are benefiting, so those who would normally have to miss out on being a compliant contractor with a major proponent, which requires a lot of work and money to have the resources, compliance and safety requirements that go along with being a compliant contractor, can be involved in the project. Bridgeman using locally sourced contractors, locally sourced employment and locally sourced Tradies was definitely a benefit to the community.

Roma State College Principal, Regan Gant

Our experience in working with Bridgeman was outstanding. Their interactions and engagement with our college throughout the entire process made what could potentially be a stressful experience in to one that created very little concern. As a result of the relationship, the outcome was two quality facilities to enhance the teaching and learning opportunities for our students and staff as well habitats and environments that enhance the welfare of our animals. Bridgeman worked closely with all stakeholders to ensure that local voice and the voice of our students and staff was evident in the final product. Throughout the entire process, communication, timely and thorough, was provided to the college in person, via regular teams’ meetings and via email. We were consistently made aware of the daily scopes of work, any amendments required, weekly updates to the progress of the works and consulted at every step of the journey. The safety of workers, our students and staff, as well as our animals was always considered and the project was delivered in a timely manner. Some of the highlights for our community beyond the enhanced facilities were the fact that 90% of local suppliers and subcontractors were used for the project with around 30% of the work being conducted by local indigenous contractors. In our rural community, these partnerships mean a great deal.

GIVIT

On behalf of GIVIT I want to express our gratitude and support of Bridgeman’s Bridge the Gap Program. Since 2019 GIVIT has worked alongside Jade and Adam to address social and economic inequalities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. The relationship between GIVIT and Bridgeman helps to support school attendance and work placements through the provision of essential items which remove barriers of study or accessing work and school.

Lance McCallum MP

I write in strong support of the Bridging the Gap with Bridgeman program, which supports high school students into future pathways like metal work, wood work, landscaping, sport or further study. Bridgeman engages with First Nations and underprivileged students in years 11 and 12, working with them during the important transition after high school. This can often be a daunting process, and the program is focussed on closing the gap of intergenerational welfare and long-term unemployment by offering support and creating pathways to lead students to success. Bridging the Gap provides real-life learning opportunities for students as they are mentored to reach their goals and make the most of their potential. Bridgeman is backing our students, and I am very proud to support the Bridging the Gap program.

The introduction of self-funded programs designed to create opportunities and inspire the Indigenous population such as your ‘One Mob Initiative’, which inspires long term unemployed indigenous people to gain employment and tertiary studies, is impressive. Your commitment to funding the total cost of the tertiary studies and provide employment for recipients is outstanding and further underlines your commitment to tackling long term unemployment.

I am also delighted to note the advancement of your other programs like your ‘Women in Construction Pathway’ and ‘Career Transition Program’, which are complimented by your ongoing commitment to ‘Kickin with a Cuz’, a charity targeting Indigenous and under-privileged youth.

As you know, Football Australia is committed to ensuring that football can continue to play a positive role in our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities, and we take inspiration from programs like yours. In particular, I want to commend and congratulate you on your selfless approach towards improving the lives of Indigenous Australians and the significant investment made by your business in this space.
